How do you feel about companies using women as well as sex like this to promote themselves?
Are people getting used to commercials that sell sex rather than the actual product?
Do you agree with this method of promotion?
It's unnatural...or is it?
Most of us have been raised to think in a heterosexual manner. Being told that it is the only way for one to express oneself, in terms of love and sexuality. Of course, when we get older and are are more educated, we learn otherwise. Later, we are told that homosexuality is wrong, unnatural and harmful. If you take a look at nature, you will see that it is natural. Animals all around us practice homosexual behavior. It is't new, human's did not introduce this, animals did.
Rats, elephants, deer, baboons, and dolphins are just a few examples. Dolphins mate for life, and yes, male dolphins do the same. Some birds parent their young with two males and one female. Some lion cubs have only lionesses guarding and raising them.
Scientists actually discovered this behavior a long time ago, but decided to disregard it because they though that heterosexuality was dominant and because they (the scientists) thought "it improved their reproductive success".
Watch this video and tell me what to think:
the first link is part one and the second is part 3. Keep watching :)

So if we see that there is homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom, why do we look at it in such a dim light? Why do some of us continue to refer to it as unnatural?
How do you feel about what you have seen?
Sorry for the adult content! It's educational, so its all good :)
Gender sterotype in Commercial "Beers vs Heels"
There are a lot of gender stereotypes shown in TV, Commercial, and actually everywhere. This Commercial clearly shows the Gender Sterotype for both men and women.
*Gender sterotype are general beleifs about sex-linked traits (collections of psychological characteristic and behaviors characterizing men and women)
Please watch this video and discuss about this following questions
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1ZZreXEqSY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
1) What would your initial feelings/reactions if it was the men squeal over the shoes and the women cheer for the beer?
2)Will children growing up think that if they do not consume alcohol they are not "manly" and if girls do not like clothes and make up, they are not "feminine"?
3)If young children are exposed to such commercials portraying men and women in this way, do you believe they would grow up with the association that women are linked with appearance and men with drink related?
Gender Dominance
1) Do you think males will always be looked upon as being more dominant?

Women Seen as Housewives

Many shows have portrayed women being as a housewife. In this show The Flintstones Fred is being lazy and is just reading his newspaper whereas Wilma is vacuuming, this is basically what a typical housewife is portrayed in many shows being the housewife and just cleaning. Also, in the show The Simpson Homer is being lazy on the couch and is creating more mess by dropping his food. If we see Bart he's chasing his dog which can cause much furniture to fall and make things out of order, and as we see Marge she’s vacuuming. Many media shows portray a whole family but the women are the ones who are seen as the housewife, the one that cleans.
Today, across the globe that has changed families help one another to get things done faster so they can enjoy time with each other rather than the mom being the one that is always cleaning. Also, women have started to go to work while men can be the ones who can look after the children and clean the house. But as many still do see a typical family as the women being the housewife, taking care of the children whereas the men are the ones who are expected to have a job and deal with the financial matters.
This video shows that a father can take care of their children even if the wife is at work. By a father spending time with their children can have a great impact rather than the mother always helping them with little homework or cheerleading as shown in this video.
Questions
1. Do you think that women are still seen as a housewife?
2. Do you think that both parents can do something equally the same? Why?
3. What do you think about the video?
